Consideration of Welsh Streets Redevelopment

The Executive Board of Liverpool City Council had been asked, through the Three Parks Neighbourhood Committee, to consider supporting an adaptation of the redevelopment proposals within the current Princes Park Neighbourhood Renewal Area which might retain some of the houses currently planned for demolition but without disadvantaging those Welsh Streets residents who wish to be re-housed.

At their meeting of 3 March 2006, the Board appeared to turn their back on any compromise.

However, continuing evidence and argument in support of that request will be assembled here.

An example of a possible adaptation is described and the implications of the District Auditor's report on Housing Market are followed, questioning complacency about the security of the current decision.
